Sure, La Bandera are well known throughout the land for their excellent tapas dishes, however they’ve also managed to garner themselves a pretty strong reputation for their Tasting Menu.
Aiming to provide a range of dishes that showcase not just Spanish cuisine but also the unique dishes that are found in the Canary Islands, their 7-course Tasting Menu features some truly outstanding dishes.
Starting off with their signature Squid Ink Croquettes, you’re then treated to Gambas Volcan (King Prawns with Canarian spices) and another Canarian speciality – the Pollo al Salmorejo Canario.
A small palate cleanser is next, ready for their Fresh Cod fillets cooked in a Canarian marinade, shortly followed by Bistec Asadores, a grilled Flat Iron steak that’s cooked in La Bandera’s signature Mojo Rojo.
Finally, you finish on the Pastel de Plantano – a dessert of banana cheesecake that takes inspiration from the huge banana groves on the islands, all producing the unique species of ‘nana.
Alongside each course is a paired wine flight, showcasing the extensive experience and knowledge of owner Yashin, as well as the many small, independent wineries and vineyards which operate on the islands.
Tasting Thursdays at La Bandera give you the chance to enjoy 30% off their Tasting Menu, every Thursday. So that means that you can get the menu for just £75 for two, or £100 for two with the wine flight.
