British artist Nick Veasey is to exhibit an exclusive collection of his work at The Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester from 22 June to 28th July 2012.
Veasey creates the art works by using x-ray technology to expose the inners of a variety of objects. The subjects can be small everyday items such as shoes, phones and dolls or large items such as buses and planes which require industrial x-ray facilities.
Whilst the images at first glance look simple, many are in fact complex collages made up of many x-rays that are painstakingly put together. This allows the viewer to see things from a new perspective, from the inside out, an aspect not seen before.

In today’s society that is obsessed with superficial appearance and the status of brands it is a refreshing contrast to see out world stripped bare of surface accoutrements and the internal beauty revealed.
Nick’s work is collected worldwide, and has been added to the British National Collection of Photography at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London as well as The Museum of Contemporary Art in San Francisco, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taiwan.

Sometimes sinister, sometimes humorous, always evocative, Nick has a growing reputation in today’s contemporary art scene worldwide and we are proud to present his work here in Manchester for the first time.
